History of Net-Work Internet

1996 Net-Work trading style

David Dean (current managing director) starts trading as Net-Work with the primary
aim to supply domain name space to customers in the UK. Net-Work begins to  provide commercial web hosting and email services from equipment hosted in Washington DC (USA).

1996 Nominet.uk Founded

Net-Work becomes founding member of Nominet.uk the UK naming registrar.

1997 Internet Growth

Commercial Internet business begins to grow rapidly. Net-Work expands its product rage and partners with Chester Internet Ltd (ChesterNet) to form the first regional dial-up ISP.

1999 Incorporation of Net-Work Internet Ltd

Net-Work Internet Ltd is formed as the business moves into its new offices in Technology
House, Ruthin, North Wales.

2001 Telehouse Network Expansion

Network expansion requires investment within UK infrastructure. The decision to expand the core facility within Telehouse Europe facilities offering the most secure and reliable environment for Internet and telecommunication providers.

2002 BT Exchange Activate Project

Net-Work Intertnet Ltd sponsors the Corwen, North Wales ADSL exchange activation, in partnership with BT and Local Authorities the trials begin and the community starts to receive broadband services.

2003 Net-Voice Project

Net-Voice begin on the joint development project, Net-PBX a IP/VOIP telecommunication network system suitable for the SME market place.

2003 RIPE Membership

Net-Work Intertnet Ltd joins RIPE and becomes a LIR (Local Internet Registry). This now allows expansion of the Internet network and will provide more services and increase network performance.

2006 CleanSMTP new product launch

Initial launch of CleanSMTP, the simple email server protection service. IT departments and value added resellers start to see the benefit.

2007 Zimbra Office new product launch

Zimbra server added to the product range, offering affordable collaboration email services to SME’s.

2007 Ofcom

Net-Work Internet begin to be regulated by Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries.

2008 Net-Telco project range launch

New range of telecommunication services have been added to the product range.

2009 Online For the Future…
